If your idea of a good festival is big stars on a big stage, watched from the middle of a big crowd, then the Best Essex Music Festival is RiZE, in Hyelands Park near Chelmsford

For years it was kown as the V Festival, after Richard Branson’s Virgin. Some of the biggest bands around played there. And some did not: Oasis split the day they were due to play V.

IN 2018 V was replaced by RiZE, in the same place an on the same weekend. If you want to go, good luck with getting tickets, and look out for scams. For 2019 Liam Galaghr is back: hopefully he will actually take the stage this time.
